One more video...

Here's the link from the Houston Chronicle today. There's a video on the left side of the page. The lady that you hear at the beginning of the video was my Sunday School teacher in college at Jersey Village Baptist Church. You can also see my mom giving PawPaw a "thumbs up" as he comes out of the ambulance.

The 2nd BEST E-Mail I Have Ever Received

PawPaw, Melissa, Peter, and Kara - May 2008
I got this e-mail today...

All,
Channel 2, 11, 13, and 26 are all planning on covering Roy Metcalf ’s homecoming tomorrow (Thursday) around 11:30 or 11:45. (Carol is going to call me when they’re about to leave the hospital.) We’re going to give them a DVD with the video of construction on the Metcalf house for them to use if they need it.

Ronny, Carol, Jeff, and Kirby – they may want to do short interviews with you and possibly with June as well. I just wanted to give you a heads up so you’ll be ready. I’m sad that Ed can’t be here for it, but Jeff and Kirby will be great!

We’re going to send out a blog tomorrow to ask church members to come around 11:30 or so and line the street. Ronny is also bringing a banner to church tonight for people to sign to have out tomorrow. We’ll ask people to sign up tonight to bring food to the Metcalfs tomorrow, and on Sunday we’ll ask people to sign up to help finish the Metcalf home.

Thanks!

My grandfather is coming home tomorrow!!! That is a HUGE answer to prayer. He has been in a hospital or rehab facility for over a year. If any of the news stations post stories, I will add links tomorrow.

By the way, if you're wondering what the 1st best e-mail I have ever received is, it was the e-mail from Andrew asking me if I wanted to do something sometime right after we met. :)

Technical Difficulty...

The "Update" post was removed so I can fix a few things on it. As soon as I have fixed it, I will put it back. Sorry!

10 Months

Remember when...Peter turned 10 months on July 28!
***The pajamas are significant in this picture. For the first 8 months, Peter wore onesies to sleep because we swaddled him from the chest down. He would have been too warm with the swaddle blanket and the pjs. Now that we aren't swaddling him anymore, he gets to wear "big boy" pjs. I love pjs, so I'm excited that Peter is now wearing them! For the first 2 years of college, I took every final exam in pjs. When I taught elementary school, we had pajama day once a year. All of the teachers wore their pjs to school during the day, and the kids came back that night in their pjs for literacy night. If I could get away with it, I would just wear pjs all day!

New York City!!!

One of the exciting things about visiting Andrew's family in New Jersey is that NYC is only 30 minutes away. We decided to take Peter into the city on his 10 month birthday. We celebrated by visiting Central Park and Times Square. He might not remember the trip, but it was still fun. Here are a few pics from Peter's first visit to the Big Apple!
