Happy Earth Day!!

We celebrated Square Root Day and Pi Day in March. We celebrated Earth Day today! I did my part in helping the earth by taking pictures with my digital camera instead of using film - 163 pictures, to be exact. How in the world did that happen? 163 pictures in 5 hours??? Here's a quick sampling of the pictures. I'll post full details (because I know that you guys can't wait to hear how I celebrated Earth Day with an 18-month-old [almost 19-month-old]) sometime in the next few days. For now, though, enjoy a few teasers. I'm off to bed. :)

Welcome Home!

Andrew put this house together in just a few hours last weekend. It has shutters, a skylight, a working doorbell, cordless phone, sink, stove, cabinet, and table. It's big enough for me or Andrew to actually sit inside with Peter, and I can even stand if I'm in the middle. Peter LOVES it!!

Austin Nature & Science Center

Every time people come to visit from out of town, I try to take them somewhere fun in Austin. Andrew's parents spent Easter weekend with us, so we went down to Austin Nature & Science Center on Monday. The weather was absolutely perfect! There were animals to look at, rocks to climb on, caves to walk through, water to try to play in, dinosaur bones to walk under, sand to dig in, and of course - ROCKS TO PICK UP! I think Peter's favorite thing to do everywhere we go is to pick up rocks. Maybe he'll be a geologist one day...

Happy Easter!!

Luke 24:6-7

He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'

We spent a nice day with Grandma and Grandpa - a wonderful church service this morning, a great lunch, a nap for Peter, and hunting Easter eggs. In church this morning, we sang one of my favorite songs - I Will Rise by Chris Tomlin.

Peter has gone into the nursery without any tears or fuss the past couple of weeks. That makes it so much easier on me! We went to the 8:30am service, so we were home by 10:00am. Peter played while we cooked lunch, and then he took a good nap.

Grandpa enjoyed picking off all of the ham at the end!

After Peter's nap, we made Easter cookies. Then Peter looked at the goodies in his Easter basket before we went outside to hunt eggs.

Daddy and Peter hunted eggs in the backyard. Peter looked for eggs for a little while, but he really just wanted to see what was in the eggs and play. I think he found 8 or 9 of the 13 that I hid. There were little Elmo figureines (thanks Rebecca!!), stickers (again, thanks Rebecca!), cereal, and coins. When he found a sticker, he wanted to put it on. When he found cereal, he and Homer shared it. When he found money, he wanted to put it in the piggy bank or throw it in the grass so he could find it again.

Happy Easter 2009!

A Special Visit

Andrew's parents are here for a visit from New Jersey, and we are very excited. Grandma was here in February, but Grandpa hasn't been here since Peter's 1st birthday in September. Peter has started walking and talking since that visit - so much has changed!! Peter enjoyed showing Grandma and Grandpa his new sandbox and water table in the backyard. The weather has been absolutely beautiful!!
