Peter Color Markers

I usually ask Peter how his day at Krista's was when I pick him up after work each day. As I put him in the car today, I asked him if he had fun today.

Mommy: Peter, did you have fun at Ms. Krista's today?

Peter: Peter color markers. Avery color markers, too.

I was so impressed! He actually answered me today! :) He also used two sentences and added the word "too" to indicate that Avery colored as well.

Here is what he colored with markers. He did such a great job. :)

On a side note - he slept from 8:30pm-6:30am last night!!! That's the 2nd night in almost 2 months that he's actually slept through the night. :)

Gross!

I was eating a sausage kolache for breakfast this morning, and I offered Peter a taste of the sausage at the very end. There was a small piece of sausage left in the rather large piece of bread, and Peter decided he would just try the entire thing. He took the kolache from me and immediately said "hot dog" as he looked inside. Then he pulled out the sausage and took a bite. Then he looked at me, and I knew immediately that he didn't like it. He spit it back into my hand and proclaimed, "Gross!!"

A few minutes later, he looked at it again and said, "Yucky hot dog!".

I guess he prefers the non-sausage hot dogs. :)

2-Year Portraits

We took Peter to have portraits made this morning. Andrew and Peter had given me a gift certificate to Portrait Innovations for my birthday, and we are so pleased with the way they turned out. This was the first time we had tried to do professional pictures of Peter since he started walking - definitely a new experience! He was all over the place! We had a great photographer, though, and he was able to keep Peter smiling. It also helped that Peter had a large variety of stuffed animals to hold while taking pictures. After 72 shots, we had tons of good ones to choose from. Here are some of them...

While I looked at all the pictures and narrowed them down, Peter played with everything he could get his hands on. You would think we took him to a toy store!! He took all the stuffed animals from both portrait areas and arranged them on the floor. There were quite a few duplicates, so every animal that had a partner was paired up. Then he sat in the various small chairs and played with rubber ducks and other things. He was so good while we waited for the pictures to be printed. These are the actual shots that we got prints of...

Watch the mail grandparents - they will be on the way as soon as I cut and sort them! Peter actually offered to help with the cutting, but I just didn't think his pizza cutter would do the job. :)

1st Popsicle

Peter got to try his first popsicle today after dinner. Judging from the pictures, I'd say he enjoyed it. :)

What could have been a disaster...

Peter woke up at 2:45 this morning in his usual way these days - calling for Mommy. I waiting a few minutes to see if he would settle back down, but of course he didn't. I was at least thankful that it was 2:45am and not 11pm like he was waking up at a couple of weeks ago.

I went into his room, and it was really dark. We've tried to make sure it's as dark as possible because we thought he might sleep better that way. I get to his bed, and I can see that he's holding something. Then he starts saying, "Uh oh, uh oh". Hearing "uh oh" in the middle of the night can't be good...

I thought at first it was a stuffed animal or blanket or something.

Nope, it was his pajama pants!!! The pajama pants he wore to bed last night were a little big. I didn't think anything of it, but apparently they didn't stay on him! I quickly felt that he still had his diaper on, and he did. This is where it could have gone very poorly. I hear tons of stories of little ones who take off their diapers in bed and major messes are made before morning.

Thankfully, my sweet little guy just held his pajama pants for Mommy to put back on and never touched his diaper! Thank you Peter - You will never know how much I appreciate that!!! :)
