Homer

Homer has been a part of our family since he was just 8 weeks old. He and Peter had a rough relationship at first, but they are now best buddies!! Because Homer has had time to get used to being handled a bit more rough than he might prefer, he does better with Danielle now than he did with Peter at the beginning. Danielle is fascinated by watching Homer, and she is slowly learning how to pet him nicely. :) "Mommy ~ Please, please, please can I play outside? Homer gets to play outside! I want to go outside with him!!"

"Mommy ~ First I peed in the yard just like Homer. Then we had fun sunbathing together. Where are my pants and underwear? I throwed them inside the kitchen!"

I love Homer, and I love that the kids love Homer, but I wish Homer would recognize that his role in this household is that of soft and furry friend instead of teacher!!

***Peter decided to poop out in the yard today. Whether or not that had to do with Homer and the fact that dogs poop in the yard, I'll never know. What I do know is that our yard is not a bathroom for humans, and we are now working very hard to teach our son this!!!!!

The Stairs

Guess who discovered the stairs? Guess who sits at the top and encourages her to climb?
Our house will never be the same!!

Zilker Park

The weather was absolutely beautiful today - a perfect day for the park! With Aunt Amy in town to help, we loaded up the car and headed downtown to Zilker Park. After having a picnic in the grass, Peter and Danielle enjoyed just being outside. Danielle spent some time crawling in the grass for the first time while Peter and Aunt Amy played tag. We also rode the train and played for a while on the playscape. It was so nice to spend some time outside enjoying the weather and a relaxing afternoon.

Souper Salad

We have been enjoying a visit from Aunt Amy from New Jersey this week. After picking her up from the airport on Tuesday, we decided to stop somewhere for lunch on the way home. I let Peter pick the place, and he enthusiasticly announced that he wanted to eat lunch at Souper Salad! Our visit on Tuesday reminded me again that Souper Salad is definitely a great place to eat with little kids. Both kids were free (3 and under eat free!), and Danielle got to try many new foods that were already cut into small little pieces. She even got to eat off of a plate for the first time!! Peter enjoyed cucumbers, grapes, sunflower seeds, olives, ham, carrots (with dip, of course), crackers, pizza, and ice cream.
