Peter and I took a trip downtown yesterday to visit the
Austin Children's Museum. I had been there on field trips several years ago when I taught elementary school, but I had never taken Peter there. Our friends
Rebecca, Sydney, and Jack invited us, so it seemed like the perfect time to go. Jack is less than 4 weeks old, so he slept most of the time. Sydney and Peter, however, had a blast!!!
Peter is at an age where his attention span is about 1.5 minutes long. That meant that he got to see A LOT of things at the museum!! These pictures are just a small sampling of everything he did yesterday.
playing in the kitchen
making pictures with light and tiles
climbing up a ramp (that actually led to a slide, but he wouldn't go down the slide)
putting a golf ball in a
baby bed going down a slide that was more his type (less than a foot off the ground!)
checking out the hen house
recycling nuts and bolts (a.k.a. matching shapes)
hanging with Sydney
rearranging the furniture in the dollhouse
hanging with Sydney - literally!
(This was at the end of a ramp that led to an emergency exit door. I think Peter spent the longest time playing on this (about 10 minutes) even though there were toys not more than 5 feet away...
hanging with the cow
checking out a barn (and learning to share the toy cows)
climbing stairs
And less than 5 minutes after leaving t
he museum, Peter was out. He slept the entire way home. Then he slept for another 1.5 hours in my lap once we got in the house. We will definitely be visiting the museum again!!
