New Jersey Children's Museum

We had a blast at the New Jersey Children's Museum this morning! I've taken Peter to two other museums like this - Children's Museum of Houston and the Austin Children's Museum. For Peter's age, this was by far our favorite! He could play and interact with every single exhibit. I never once had to tell him that something was too big for him or he was too little to play there. It was pretty busy because there were 4 groups there - a couple of day cares, a Montessori school, and a YMCA group from New York City. However, even with lots of other kids, Peter was able to play everywhere he wanted to. I took almost 90 pictures, so here's just a sampling of how we spent our morning...

We watched the trains for quite a while. I was afraid that we would be spending all of our time here, but Peter quickly discovered that there was so much more to play with!

Cars and trucks - another favorite! There were at least 2 different sandboxes that the kids could actually play in.
Peter is learning how a house is built by hammering nails.
The computer - another favorite! One of the other moms said that maybe he'll be an IT guy one day. He does love computers! :)
Hanging out on the fire engine with Aunt Amy
The train table - another favorite! The museum had quite a few of these tables in various themes - trains, cars, western, etc. The wheel turned a giant kaleidoscope. Peter loved looking at the pretty pictures inside.

We learned about magnets.
Peter rode in a rocket ship and on a horse. Unlike the ones at the grocery stores or the outlet malls, these didn't require quarters!! This was cool - a giant Lite-Brite!! Peter loved putting the pegs in the holes and seeing them light up.
Stepping on the piano made noise. He had fun dancing! Having fun in the kitchen...
Vacuuming the ballet room... Yet another themed table - this one had trains and animals, I think.
Taking a juice break after playing hard!
Playing the drums
Mailing a letter at the post office
Playing peek-a-boo in the voting booth :)

We were there for just over 2 hours, and Peter was constantly busy and playing with something. The place had so much to do that we never once revisited an area. We will definitely be visiting again someday!!!

I really wish I didn't hate flying so very much. You are making the north east look very much worth visiting.
