We arrived at the airport around 9:15 to check in for our 10:50 flight. The airport wasn't busy at all, so we were through security in no time.
Peter did a great job hanging out at the gate. He ate snacks...
and walked/ran around the waiting area. Thankfully there was a group of sweet ladies seated near us who watched our stuff while I chased Peter around.
The trashcan also provided a distraction. :)
We were all set to pre-board when a Continental representative announces that due to weather in Newark (which was sunny, so we aren't really sure what was wrong), we were now delayed until 12:15. 12:15??? What in the world were we going to do for another 1 1/2 hours?
Watch DVDs! I picked up a DVD yesterday that has the song "Wheels on the Bus". It was a lifesaver! :)
After snacking on a turkey sandwich from Schlotzsky's, we finally boarded a little before noon. Around 12:35, we finally took off. Peter did GREAT. We sat on the tarmac for so long that he fell asleep before the plane took off. He slept for almost 45 minutes before waking up to the beverage/food cart. He was in need of more apple juice, so we filled his cup, and he was a happy guy. He also enjoyed the chocolate bar from my lunch (and the chocolate bar from the lady next to us!). He snacked on and off during the flight and played with several toys that I brought. He explored the restrooms, and I was thankful to find out that there was a changing table in one of them. He REALLY enjoyed playing with his new garbage truck! He walked up and down the aisle (always staying within 3 seats of me) and showed his truck to whoever would look. Then he would drive it up and down their armrest. Peter make lots of friends on this flight!
The people sitting next to us were wonderful. The Korean woman next to us didn't mind when Peter tried to touch her tummy or drive his garbage truck on her tray table. It didn't bother her when he put his feet on her or crawled under her legs to get the garbage truck when it fell off the tray table. The young man next to her (by the window) was also very friendly.
On a side note, the weather here is AMAZING!!! Coming from 100+ degree temperatures to a house where the A/C isn't even needed is wonderful. Highs tomorrow in the 80s . . . we can't wait to go out and play! :)

The end of the flight went well, and Veggie Tales entertained Peter for the last half-hour or so. We landed safely, and we were so glad to see Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Amy. Peter has quickly made himself at home here, so I know it's going to be a great visit!

I am so impressed that you and Peter made that flight together so well. I could never do it.
Have fun in Jersey!
